About Isaaac Souweine

Isaac joined Pender Ventures in 2022 to help build the firm’s presence in Eastern Canada. Previously, he was a partner at Real Ventures, where he led a Quebec-focused, pre-seed investment strategy while also serving as General Manager of FounderFuel, the firm’s accelerator. Prior to joining Real, Isaac spent more than a decade as a product management leader in New York, Singapore and Montreal, including stints at Sonder, Frank and Oak, Yahoo and Scholastic.

In addition to his work with startups, Isaac is passionate about building communities. He is a co-founder of Product Tank Montreal, a longstanding meetup and APM Montreal, a community-based training program. He is also a founding board member of Front Row Ventures, Canada’s only student-run venture capital firm. Isaac is also an active mentor with several accelerators and incubators. He has a BA from Columbia University and an MBA from INSEAD.

About Meryeme Lahmami

Meryeme joined Pender Ventures in 2022 to help further develop its health tech investing practice. Previously, she worked at BDC Capital’s Women in Tech Venture Fund, where she led investments in early-stage and growth companies across biotech, enterprise software and digital health. Prior to BDC, Meryeme was an investor at Medteq, where she focused on early-stage investments in digital health, diagnostics and medical device companies. Meryeme started her career as a consultant in bio-based products and wearables before co-founding a venture-backed health tech startup.

Meryeme is active in the startup community, including mentorship roles with a number of Montreal-based incubators and accelerators. She holds an MBA from Laval University and a BA from ISCAE. Meryeme was born and raised in Morocco where she was a high-level athlete competing at an international level.

À propos d’Isaac Souweine

Isaac a rejoint Pender Ventures en 2022 pour aider à développer la présence de la société dans l’Est du Canada. Auparavant, il était associé chez Real Ventures, où il a dirigé une stratégie d’investissement de pré-amorçage au Québec, tout en étant directeur général de FounderFuel, l’accélérateur de l’entreprise. Avant de rejoindre Real, Isaac a passé plus de dix ans à New York, Singapour et Montréal en tant que responsable de la gestion des produits, notamment chez Sonder, Frank and Oak, Yahoo et Scholastic.

En plus de son travail avec les startups, Isaac est passionné par la construction de communautés. Il est cofondateur de Product Tank Montréal et d’APM Montréal. Il est également membre fondateur du conseil d’administration de Front Row Ventures, la seule société de capital de risque gérée par des étudiants au Canada. Isaac est un mentor actif auprès de plusieurs accélérateurs et incubateurs. Il est titulaire d’une licence de l’Université de Columbia et d’un MBA de l’INSEAD.

À propos de Meryeme Lahmami

Meryeme a rejoint Pender Ventures en 2022 pour aider à développer sa pratique d’investissement dans les technologies de la santé. Auparavant, elle a travaillé pour le Women in Tech Venture Fund de BDC Capital, où elle a dirigé des investissements dans des entreprises en phase de démarrage et de croissance dans les domaines de la biotechnologie, des logiciels d’entreprise et de la santé numérique. Avant BDC, Meryeme était investisseure chez Medteq, où elle s’est concentrée sur les investissements en phase de démarrage dans les entreprises de santé numérique, de diagnostic et d’appareils médicaux. Meryeme a commencé sa carrière en tant que consultante dans le domaine des produits biologiques et des vêtements avant de cofonder une entreprise en démarrage de technologie de la santé financée par du capital de risque.

Meryeme est active dans la communauté startup, y compris dans des rôles de mentorat avec un certain nombre d’incubateurs et d’accélérateurs basés à Montréal. Elle est titulaire d’un MBA de l’Université Laval et d’un BA de l’ISCAE. Meryeme est née et a grandi au Maroc, où elle a été une athlète de haut niveau participant à des compétitions internationales.
